APPLICATIONS

WEATHERABILITY
Requires protection against UV degradation if left exposed to sunlight for extended periods.

TOXICITY
Negligible. Gases given off in the event of a tire are non toxic.


CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
Resistant to most common acids and chemicals.

WATER ABSORPTION
Minimal, duet° closed cell structure, less than 2%.

FIRE RESISTANCE
Air-o-therm’s foam is fire resistant: it does not propagate the flame neither vertically nor horizontally

Product Information

Air-o-therm’s range of pipe insulation and lagging have been developed over a period of some 15 years to provide optimum insulation properties over a wide temperature range for all hot and cold water applications.

Air-O-Therm -T45

Sheet insulation suitable for lagging oversize piping, irregular vessels, tanks and ductwork widths available up to lm. In addition to insulating hot and cold water pipes, Air-o-therm pipe insulation may be used for a variety of applications including roof rack and yacht railing protectors and bike cross bar covers. Air-a-therm pipe and sheet insulation products consist of a low density, closed cell polyethylene foam. Where pipes are buried, Air-o-therm pipe insulation is ideal because its closed cell structure ensures minimal moisture absorption and/or reaction with soils. All Air-o-therm polyethylene foam is fire retardant and will not support combustion.

Product Information

Air-o-therrn Ductwrap is manufactured from 1000/0 South African raw materials. Air-o-therm Ductwrap is a flexible insulation wrap, specially engineered to meet the requirements of external lagging of air conditioning ducting. It consists of low density closed cell polyethylene foam which is flame retarded and faced with an aluminum foil.

The thermal conductivity of Air-o-therm Ductwrap is 0.034 W ‘Mk at a mean temperature of accordance with DIN 52613.

When tested in accordance with AS 1530.3 ‘Early Fire Hazard Properties of Materials’, Air-o-therm Ductwrap has the following indices*.

Health and Safety

There are no health hazards associated with Air-o-therm Ductwrap in normal use and is produced from food grade approved low density polythene. Because Air-o-therm’s closed cell polyethylene foam contains no synthetic mineral fibre (SMF’s) no special clothing, including gloves, masks or goggles are required when handling or using the product. Ozone Resistance Ductwrap is CFC free. Excellent when tested in accordance with ASTM D1171. Packaging Air-o-therm Ductwrap is supplied in rolls, tapped and wrapped in polyethylene.
